Great Salt Lake Nature Center
Farmington, UT
The new Great Salt Lake Nature Center serves as a gateway to the lake and its wetlands. It was designed to accommodate large groups, such as youth field trips, and is comprised of three specialty buildings with exposed wood features. An exhibit hall with educational displays introduces visitors to the local wildlife. It includes an outlying classroom with a teaching and laboratory space and an assembly hall for community and educational events that is designed to accommodate an audience of 200. The courtyard contains public art and shady places for gather and rest. The buildings have a green garden roof that was specially designed for the donors, water fowl enthusiasts, who contributed toward similar special features in the center.
