Salt Lake Regional Athletic Complex
Salt Lake City, UT
The Salt Lake Regional Athletic Complex is comprised of 16 world-class fields fit for rugby, soccer, lacrosse and youth football. Hughes used Lidar (aerial topography) to yield 1.6 million survey points and GPS-enabled equipment to achieve ¼-inch tolerances. The project also includes field and parking lot lighting, 10-acre asphalt parking, 200,000 square feet of concrete flatwork, 20,000 linear feet of curb and gutter, 1.3 million square feet of landscaping with irrigation and a 5,000 square foot comfort station and concessions building. The design took into account wetlands, a high water table, secondary water usage and access to three major freeways.
