Santa Clara City Hall

Santa Clara, UT

Santa Clara City wanted to match the look of a turn-of-the century school house previously on the site of their proposed city hall. The city council wanted a hand-pitched sandstone veneer, but including the veneer exceeded their budget or would otherwise require sacrificed building space. Quality synthetic alternatives posed the same problem. Hughes suggested the creation of an original manufactured block, which led to the invention of a new product: Pioneer Stone™. Pioneer Stone not only has the appearance of sandstone, it is load bearing, eliminating the need for a veneer. This invention saved the client over $900,000 and gave them the building they envisioned.
