UDOT Cottonwood Heights
Cottonwood Heights, UT
The UDOT Cottonwood building is the largest UDOT maintenance shed in the state of Utah, with winter avalanche equipment housing as well as housing for trucks and two cranes. The adjoining office includes a break room, lockers, storage and laundry equipment. The exterior block coloring was specifically chosen to match the adjacent mountain landscape. The facility also has a 150-storm capacity detention pond to keep salt water out of the aquifer. The former salt storage facility was incorporated into the new site and included a rebuild of the old station on the old site after portions were sold to the City of Cottonwood. A shared fueling station is also maintained with the state network
